Raw Steel Finish

The raw steel option features the board just as it comes off the machine, giving it a rugged, industrial appearance. Irregular scratches, markings, and natural surface variations are normal and add to the character of raw steel.

The 16-gauge hot-rolled mild steel has a thin layer of black oxide, also called magnetite, which can give the surface a dark gray or bluish tint. Exposure to moisture or humidity may naturally create a rust patina over time.

If you prefer a cleaner, rust-free appearance, the surface can be buffed with #3 coarse steel wool to remove existing rust.
